22 Weeks

Saturday we made it to 22 weeks and we discovered that our septic pump had died. Of course we discovered this after most places were closed, so we had to cut our water use severely since the tank was full (we have this crazy above ground mound system which uses a pump to move the grey water into the mound). It actually wasn't too terrible - we spent Sunday at my parent's house butchering a deer and we were able to get it fixed this morning.

In baby news, I finally felt the baby move on the first day of our cruise (about January 31st). It definitely doesn't feel quite like I imagined. Everyone kept describing it as similar to feeling butterflies in your stomach, but I find it's much more subtle then that. I guess I was expecting the sensation to be stronger, but I'm guessing that will come as the baby grows.

Oh, I've also discovered that I'm kind of a mean pregnant lady. I'm fine most of the time but sometimes I just get into these moods. I don't necessarily say or do anything mean but I'm definitely not as friendly as I usually am. Not cool! But I was warned. My mom had told me that she was a moody pregnant lady, but I guess I didn't think all the hormones would affect me in that way. Wrong!

  1. You look adorbs. Plain and simple.

Sorry about the septic pump. No fun! And I agree -- the baby's movements didn't feel like butterflies ... probably more like indigestion (tmi?).

  2. You look great! I love your outfit, too. Those sweet and soft movements inside of you will become stronger, indeed, as your baby grows. And when you feel like a beached whale they will become painful (especially when little baby feet are under your ribs)!

P.S. Thanks for the tip about my blog name -- but I have absolutely no idea how to change it.
