Southern Garden: Tomatoes

If you live anywhere else in the U.S., the last thing you're probably thinking about is tomatoes. But not if you live along the Gulf Coast. Believe it or not, now is actually the time to start planting your tomato starts here. I have a lot to learn about gardening here! Apparently to have any chance at a good tomato crop you have to get them in the ground by March, so that they have time to produce before the ultra-hot weather rolls in. We'll see how they do - right now it looks like we're off to a good start.

  1. How I miss the Gulf Coast and those southern vegetables! This is making me homesick. Good luck on the green thumb.
