We had beautiful weather here this weekend, so I took the time to go out and take care of the garden. In addition to prepping the soil for our spring garden, I weeded and thinned out some of our lettuce. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of thinning out my plants, because it's time consuming so I usually try to space my seeds out when I'm planting but that didn't help me much this time.
Oh, and can we talk about washing lettuce? SO time consuming, especially if you don't want a mouth full of grit. It was terrible enough that I'm thinking of only growing heads of lettuce in the future. That or I need to figure out a more efficient way to wash lettuce. Maybe a salad spinner would make it easier?
In other news, we are taking our first cruise this weekend! My mom found a great deal on a four day cruise to Cozumel, so we jumped at it. We've been wanting to take a trip before the baby comes and wanting to spend some time with my family, so this was the perfect combination of the two. So, if I'm a slacking in the blogging and blog reading department it's because I'm trying to figure out what to do (and eat!) while we're there.
