17 weeks

Weeks 14 - 15 were hard. My morning sickness got worse and I felt terrible, but then one morning I woke up and felt normal. Seriously, for the first time in my pregnancy I forgot that I was pregnant - I felt that normal. I wish I could say everyday since has been like that but it hasn't. I still get nauseous but I'm feeling so much better that I can't really complain.

My day-to-day activities really haven't changed all that much since I've been pregnant. I'm still lifting weights four times a week and feeling good. I'll admit this was the one thing that surprised my nurse midwife. She's of the opinion that pregnant women shouldn't lift more then 15 lbs, but I disagree. Honestly, you'd never be able to pick up a toddler if that was the case. I've done my research and I feel comfortable with what I'm doing (and so does my husband).

No weird cravings. Much to my husband's dismay, I have moments when I really crave things like pizza or a sub or a bagel, but it usually goes away fairly quickly. I'm trying to eat as best as I can, but it's hard sometimes. There are still certain smells and tastes that make me gag (namely cooked greens).

I went shopping for the first time in forever this weekend and it was awful. I tried on at least 40 different things and 99% of them just didn't fit right. I need to figure something out though, because the clothes I have isn't going to get me much farther. Really, I just need to figure out what the secret to being a stylish pregnant lady is. Any tips?

  2. Oooh, also: Shade Clothing. They are run by Gymboree, and they source clothing from manufacturers that are regularly audited to follow 7 different aspects of labor requirements (no forced labor, no child labor, just wages, etc.) And their stuff is cute, well priced, well made. (And they have sales a lot, free shipping, and free returns.)

    1. Thanks for the suggestions! I didn't know Shade Clothing had such great labor requirements. I've been eyeing a few things on their site so I might have to take the plunge.
